A report in a trade magazine welcoming CeremonyCast into the Australian Funeral Directors Association

The Australian Funeral Directors’ Association has been promoting professional funeral standards for more than 85 years.

CeremonyCast has seen at first-hand how AFDA members have provided the highest standards of care for families in time of need. We are pleased to announce that we are now a part of AFDA too and look forward to building even stronger links with members.

    Funeral Live Streaming by CeremonyCast

The way we say goodbye to loved ones has been transformed by technology. Professional funeral live streaming is now a vital part of modern funerals and CeremonyCast has seen first-hand how society has readily embraced new ways of farewelling family and friends.

Not so long ago, funeral live streaming and recording was a niche request. Despite documenting every moment of our lives via photos and videos, a camera at a funeral was a rare sight. Filming or taking photos felt awkward or even disrespectful.

COVID lockdowns turned all of that on its head. Necessity meant many aspects of our lives shifted online and we became accustomed to seeing cameras at funerals. Attending a funeral via live stream became the norm, in-turn socially acceptable, and now an expected part of any funeral or memorial alongside flowers, service booklets and transport.

The live streaming industry has responded to that enormous pace of change. Funeral live streams are now incredibly professional and polished productions, vision-mixed using multiple cameras and microphones to capture all the important details of the ceremony while remaining discreet and respectful. People watching say joining via live stream can feel just like being there in person.

The funeral video also takes on a new angle after the ceremony is over. Families tell us rewatching the tributes at a later date, when they feel ready, brings renewed comfort. And the video becomes a valuable part of family history.
